I went to Amphawa on one fine Sunday with a friend. We did not have any map and did not have an exact plan. All we knew were, eating, exploring new places and enjoy the Sunday doing something relaxing. Along the way to Amphawa we stopped at " Dong Hoi Lot " for a wonderful lunch. This dish is using the Hoi Lot (a kind of bamboo shell ) to fried with some chili paste and basil. The place is famous of the bamboo shell.

When we reached Amphawa, it was already 5pm. We did not have a lot of time before the fire flies boat ride, so we past by those mouthwatering food stores and went to the souveniors stores along the river very briefly. These monkeys in front of the store were eyes-catching. Love the colors and the funny looking face.

I love Amphawa right away when I arrived. It's such a charming little town that people are selling uniquely designed things. Food are everywhere and the floating market is one of of a must-sees. Although I do think that there are a lot of improvements needed in this nice little town, garbage can be handles properly and river can be kept less polluted. Hopefully the charm will be kept longer that it will not become a "tourist" place very soon.
